Placid’s View

College teacher Mike Diamond leads a quiet life near Lake Placid until Christina, the girlfriend of one of his students, is gruesomely murdered at the Olympic Arena. Mike’s involvement leads to a daring and explosive denouement.

“Heller is that rare species in a regional novelist, a writer who knows intimately the Adirondacks and yet whose use of telling local detail never overshadows his higher literary purple. Placid’s View offers escapism, entertainment, and suspense, but the ride is made memorable by the high sheen of the language. You finish the book thirsty for more shots from Murray Heller’s bottle of potent storytelling.” -Paul Grondahl, author and editor
