Murder in the Shawangunks and Class of ’68

Norman Van Valkenburgh was born in Westkill in Greene County and spent most of his life in or in sight of the Catskill Mountains. He was a licensed surveyor and 32-year veteran of the New York State Department of Conservation.  He is author of the other Ward Eastman mysteries Murder in the Catskills, Mayhem in the Catskills and Murder in the Shawangunks as well as the essay collection Old Stone Walls.

Airilee Ellyn Blessing was Norman Van Valkenburgh’s daughter. She was a great lover of books, and upon her death, her father edited a manuscript she had been working on. The result is “Class of ’68: a Mountain Top Mystery.”
